The Star Angela Day Corporate Team Building Programme 2010
Who would believe that the best business relationships can be forged around a hot stove? Forget about bungee jumping, paint balling and a whole host of sports days - they are passe as more and more corporates turn to the kitchen for the very best team building experience. In the picturesque setting of one of Johannesburg's finest garden centres in Randpark Ridge, The Star Angela Day Kitchen is situated where we offer excellent facilities for hands-on cooking classes.
We can cater for groups of a maximum of 30 people and a minimum of 16 people. Groups are divided into teams of two to four and each team prepares a number of individual dishes to compliment a comprehensive meal consisting of starters, main courses and desserts. All ingredients are measured out for participants.
Members of the teams undertake different activities while working towards a common goal - an excellent meal. The team's performance is continually monitored by two Angela Day team members and assistance and sharing of skills is given when needed. Prizes are awarded for fun to teams cooking the best dishes.
Our ethos is to provide a function that gives rise to much banter, a great deal of fun and laughter which culminates in an excellent sit-down meal served in the kitchen.
THE MENU
The following themes are on offer but team building programmes can be tailored to suit individual needs. Special dietary requirements eg. vegetarian and halaal can be catered for.
A taste of Thai
Thai is trendy, quick and very tasty. It's all about satays, spring rolls, fish cakes, curries and more.
The pizzaz of pasta making, pizza, traditional sauces to complement the pasta, risotto, biscotti and special Italian dessert like tiramisu and panacotta. This course is a good choice if a lot of participants are vegetarian or Hallal.
He's taken the culinary world by storm and his food is just such fun to make and even better to eat. Wonderful foccacia, roast fillet, crunchy salad, Moroccan chicken and cheeky chocolate mousse are some of the dishes cooked.
She may be the sexiest cook but has wonderful food ideas – Roast lamb to die for, Juicy steak with a difference, easy Vietnamese chicken salad, Prawn curry. Her famous watermelon and feta salad, sticky toffee pudding and velvetty cheesecake are dishes on the menu.
Take a culinary journey around the world with a whole host of wonderful dishes form countries such as Thailand, Morocco, France, Italy, Australia, Greece and Mexico.
A wonderful competitive course where the group is divided into two teams, one cooking Jamie’s food and the other cooking Nigella’s food, then the judging comes as to who’s food is the best. Really great for a team building event.
The cost for any of the above courses is R400.00 per person for corporates (excluding VAT). We can accept bookings for a maximum of 20 - 30 people.
A 20% deposit fee for all bookings will be charged. This will become non refundable should a cancellation take place within less than 5 working days.
The price includes the following:
Comprehensive menu, meal plan and recipe leaflets for participants to take home
Snacks on arrival - pate, dips, cheese and biscuits and crisps
We supply quality Distell red and white wine, soft drinks,and fruit juice. Companies may bring their own wine and malt but from experience we discourage the consumption of spirits.
All the ingredients and a generous meal for participants
Coffee and chocolates are served after the meal

We have a wonderful cook book "Favourits" at R70.00 each
THE TIMES
Evening sessions are offered from 6.30pm - 10.30pm Mondays to Fridays Lunchtime sessions - 11am - 3pm, times can be changed to suit needs
PLEASE NOTE: There is a surcharge of R500 per hour after 11pm.
PLEASE NOTE: Once a booking has been confirmed it cannot be changed. A R1000 cancellation fee will be charged. A function date may only be changed once then the cancellation fee will apply.
ESKOM CLAUSE
In the event of a class not being able to start or continue due to load shedding in the area, the amount of R1500.00 will be charged to cover a portion of our ingredients costs.
